Yes. No subscription, no paid tier, no email gate on the comparison tool. The site is supported by affiliate partnerships — we may earn a commission when you shop through our links, which never changes the prices you see.

How accurate are the prices in the comparison tool?

They are estimates modeled from traceable public sources: BLS monthly retail food price surveys, Aldi's weekly digital ad, Whole Foods' Amazon-hosted product pages, and staff-audited Walmart prices. Each item shows a "verified · X days ago" badge so you know how fresh the data is, and derived prices are labeled. Fees and tip estimates use each service's posted schedule — treat totals as estimates, not a guaranteed bill.

Which grocery delivery service is cheapest?

It depends on your basket. In our modeled NYC test of a typical 12-item weekly basket, estimated all-in totals were: Instacart-Aldi $45.30, Walmart+ $51.29, Amazon Fresh $58.87, Whole Foods $71.54. Instacart-Aldi is usually the cheapest for standard staples; Walmart+ wins on bigger baskets ($75+) where its free-over-$35 delivery threshold kicks in. These are estimates, not guarantees — use the tool to check your specific basket and ZIP.

Do I need an account to use the price comparison tool?

No. The comparison tool works without signup. You only need an account if you want to save recipes, plan a week of meals, or persist a shopping list across sessions.

How is this different from a meal kit like HelloFresh?

Meal kits charge $80-$200 a week to ship pre-portioned ingredients. We don't ship anything — we tell you which delivery service is cheapest for what you actually want to buy, then send the list to your service of choice. The typical stake: ~$26 per weekly basket — the gap between the cheapest and priciest service on our modeled 12-item NYC test basket ($45.30 vs $71.54), an estimate, not a guarantee.

Real means real — and estimates say so

Live prices come from the Kroger Product API for stores near your ZIP, so they cover Kroger-family banners. If an item has no confident product match at a store, we leave it out of that store's total instead of guessing. Delivery-service totals (Walmart+, Instacart, Amazon Fresh) are modeled estimates from traceable public sources and are always labeled as estimates — the two are shown side by side, never blended.
