Ingredients
- 1 cupyellow lentils (toor dal)
- 1 mediumonion
- 1 mediumtomato
- 1 teaspoonginger-garlic paste
- ½ teaspooncumin seeds
- 1 teaspoonred chili powder
- ½ teaspoonturmeric powder
- 2 tablespoonsoil or ghee
- ¼ cupcilantro
Instructions

Cook lentils with water, turmeric, and salt until soft.

In a separate pan, heat oil/ghee, and add cumin seeds until they crackle.

Add chopped onions and sauté until golden, then add garlic and tomatoes.
