Ingredients
- 1 cuptoor dal (split pigeon peas)
- 1 mediumonion
- 1 mediumtomato
- 1 tbspginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tspturmeric powder
- 1 tspred chili powder
- 2 tbspoil or ghee
- to garnishcilantro
- to tastesalt
Instructions

Rinse dal and boil with water until soft.

In a separate pan, heat oil/ghee, add cumin seeds.

Add onions and sauté until golden, then add ginger-garlic paste.

Add tomato, spices, and salt; cook for a few minutes.

Mix the tempering into the boiled dal, simmer for 10 minutes.
