Ingredients
- 1 cupred lentils
- 1 mediumonion
- 1 largetomato
- 3 clovesgarlic
- 1 inchginger
- 1 teaspooncumin seeds
- 1 teaspoonturmeric powder
- 2 tablespoonsoil

Instructions

Rinse lentils and add them to a pot with chopped onion, tomato, minced garlic, ginger, turmeric, and salt.

Add 3 cups of water, bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer for 20 minutes or until lentils are soft.

In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds until they splutter. Pour this tempering over the cooked lentils and stir well.
